*SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS AND ASSUMPTIONS
- *OS - Windows 10
- *Browser - Google Chrome
- *Please ensure you have your Boca Printer drivers installed on your Windows computer, follow the instructions in detail.
- Note: It is important to before plugging in the Boca Printer, to download the drivers HERE
- Install them by right-clicking on the files and "Run as Administrator". Then follow the prompts on the computer to finish the driver installation.
- Then turn on the Boca printer and plug it in.
- Last, make sure to set the printer as your default printer under Settings / Devices / Printers as well. - *You should have the most recent drivers for you Boca printer installed on your computer www.qz.io - download the most recent version (QZ tray 2.0 currently)
Note* After qz downloads it should now be running in your system try on your computer and is necessary for Boca printing. If Boca does not print be sure to first check that QZ.IO is in the tray. You will see a green cube icon if it is in the tray running. Simply double-click on the QZ tray icon to make sure it's running.
QZ.IO troubleshooting:
- We used F12 to view the browser logs and they showed that the website could not connect to wss://localhost:8181. This is usually an SSL issue, so as a baseline we visited https://localhost:8181 (works) and then demo.qz.io (works)
- Since everything was working fine, so we then refreshed the ticketing website and the connection succeeded. I'm not sure why this happened, but it may be due to QZ Tray being installed while that tab was still open. If this happens more frequently let us know so that we can add it to our Frequently Asked Questions.
- Next, we tested the FGL capabilities of the printer by:
- Using demo.qz.io, we searched for "PA" to find the Practical Automation (FGL-compatible) ticket printer.
- Using demo.qz.io, we clicked the fgl_sample.txt button.
- The ticket printed successfully.
- Then, we went back to the ticketing website and attempted to print. It didn't work. We opened %appdata%\qz\debug.log and saw the web application was defaulting to "Fax" as a printer.
- We told Windows to set the PA printer as default, retested, it didn't work.
- We then put the word "BOCA" in the PA printer name, and we successfully printed a ticket from the ticketing (I assume ticketsocket) application.
