1. Navigating the GTM Setup Interface
Before setting up custom conversion IDs, get familiar with the interface.
Log in to your GTM account at tagmanager.google.com.
By default, you will land on the Overview screen.
On the left-hand side, you’ll find the main navigation menu.
Menu Options:
Tags – List of tags in your GTM container.
Clicking a tag name lets you view/modify configuration.
Triggers – Define conditions for when a tag fires.
Variables – Store/manage data for use in tags and triggers.
Includes both built-in and custom variables.
Folders – Manage organized tags, triggers, or variables.
Tip:
To update a tag → Click Tags, locate the tag, and edit its configuration.
2. Making Changes to Settings
Access the desired section (Tags, Triggers, Variables).
Locate the item you want to modify.
Use the search bar if needed.
Click the item’s name to view and edit its configuration.
In the configuration screen, update fields such as:
Event tracking IDs
Conversion IDs
Tag IDs
Adjust other settings, conditions, or variables as needed.
Save your changes.
